Teen Anger

Teen anger is on the rise.  Note:

The use of illegal drugs is increasing, especially among young teens.  The average age of first marijuana use is 14, and alcohol use can start before age 12.  The use of marijuana and alcohol in high school has become common.

Drug use is associated with a variety of negative consequences, including increased risk of serious drug use later in life, school failure, and poor judgment which may put teens at risk for accidents, violence, unplanned and unsafe sex, and suicide (http://www.focusas.com/SubstanceAbuse.html).

It is the violence in this above statement that I ultimately want to focus on.  But before we get to that, we need to attend to other related issues.

The same website above, under the heading "warning signs of teen substance abuse" gives the following symptomatology:

Emotional

  • personality change

  • sudden mood changes

  • irritability

  • irresponsible behavior

  • low self-esteem

  • poor judgment

  • depression

  • general lack of interest

But its not just substance abuse that gets teens into trouble.  Its things that they do not mistakenly decide to do to themselves -- things that are done to them by the marvels and wonders of our modern technological age -- that are my main concern here: it is exposure to toxic chemicals leading to PESTICIDE POISONING.

Now note the following in terms of the above headings:

It is more than coincidental that the present epidemic of hyperactivity and behavioral problems among school children has coincided with steadily increasing levels of VOCs found in modern buildings.  Standard neurotoxicology texts point out that behavioral problems may be the earliest sign of chemical toxicity (http://www3.sympatico.ca/cnin/childvocs.htm) (my emphasis).

We do know that pesticides can have an impact on the brain and central nervous system.  These effects are particularly dangerous for children who have not completed their development.  The percentage of people who will develop long-term nervous system problems due to pesticide exposure is not known.  Some nervous-system exposure to pesticides include anxiety, difficulty in concentrating, memory deficits, personality changes and more subtle effects (http://www.preventcancer.com/consumers/household/pesticides_home.htm) (my emphasis).

Lately, many factors have appeared to negatively influence the normal growth of children and teen-agers. Among these, the most pressing factors are: alcoholism, narcotics consumption, pesticides (http://www.parties.e-democracy.md/en/parties/peavm/program/).

What we are seeing in this highly chemicalized and urbanized world is much more than just a 'rash' of behavior that denotes: personality change / sudden mood changes / irritability / depression / apathy / disruptive behavior.  We are, in fact, witnessing a global psychological pandemic of aberrant behavior.

The chemicals we have become dependent upon in so many ways (and in so many different products) are bypassing our children's critically important blood-brain barriers.  We are seeing only the tip of the Extinction Level Event ice-berg that is rapidly suffocating this planet.  Chemical poisoning, and particularly pesticide poisoning are generating aggressive and anti-social behavior through our chemical-apathetic societies, worldwide.

Teen Anger - Last Words

Teen Anger: A Lethal Outcome of a Sociologically Sick and a

Toxicologically Compromised World

Teen anger does not just represent symptoms arising out of wealth or poverty, apathy and disaffected and youthful (immature) reactions to civilizations in turmoil and decline.  Teen anger can also be attributed to a literally toxic sociological landscape swimming in an ocean of chemicals 'designed' to poison nervous systems.  Teen anger is a nervous complaint also.  Aggressive teen behavior (particularly teen anger) can be seen as a loss of nervous system integrity, with much of this dynamic seeing its roots well ensconced within a mostly sub-clinical regime of pesticide poisoning impacts.  As well, teen suicide can be seen as having a toxicological component where suicidal ideation arises out of depressive chemical impacts on the brain.  Both irrational and uncontrollable teen anger and teen suicide are indications of morbid toxicological movements on a continuum toward nervous system death.

If you spray pesticide, then those exposed and poisoned cannot be expected to generate attitudes of joy and delight!  The "cide" in "pesticide" means DEATH! Attitudes that are overly negative and uncensored are attitudes expected on the gradual decline toward death.  That is why farmers in the United States that are exposed to organophosphate pesticides show a much higher predisposition to suicide than non farmers.  They experience a high incidence of pesticide poisoning and the resulting morbid psychological symptoms.

Teen anger should alarm us!  And not just because its uncomfortable or loud.  Teen anger should register with those who can truly think deeply and broadly as a deadly symptom of a planet in extremis, a whole world gone wrong and laboring under the invisible pressure of hundreds of thousands of toxic chemicals, particularly a very wide range of chemicals predisposed to the pesticide poisoning of generations of modern humans.  These are the chemicals that we chose to introduce, ultimately via the engines of chemical engineering and a mass of unexamined prospects for corporate wealth generation.  And we have introduced this massive aberration in human thinking into a once green world bursting with life!
